Thanksgiving Bag Drop-Off

Thanksgiving is a special time of the year. First United Methodist Hurst invites you to share the season with families in our community by providing a Thanksgiving dinner. This year our goal is to provide 500 Thanksgiving bags to members of the community.

Please do your shopping and bring the items on the list to church during one of the times below. We will pack the food in the purple bags after it’s dropped off.

We are also requesting $10 gift cards to either Kroger or Wal-Mart. If you are able to donate gift card(s), they can be included with the food or placed in the offering plate on Sunday morning. Monetary donations are also welcomed to cover the cost of the turkeys.

Drop off times:

• Sunday, November 5 & 12 : 8:30-10:30 a.m.
• Wednesday, November 15 : 4-6 p.m.

The following items should be included in each bag:

• Canned Fruit (15 ounce) - 2 cans
• Sweet Potatoes/Yams – 1 large can or 2 small cans
• Green Beans (14 ounces ) - 2 cans
• Stuffing mix - 1 bag (12 ounces or larger)
• Box of instant mashed potatoes (13 ounces or larger)
• Cranberry Sauce - 1 can
• Turkey Gravy Mix – 2 packets
• Jiffy Cornbread Mix - 2 boxes
• Brownie mix -13x9 pan size (family size)
