God's people (ourselves included) are a "stiff-necked" and rebellious group, yet God's on-going desire is to show up and dwell among us. In spite of our failings God dwells among us. From God's presence with the Israelites through to the incarnation of Jesus, we see that God is always gracious, always merciful, and always self-sacrificing.
