Sunday Morning at
First United Methodist Church Hurst
Sunday Morning Schedule
Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
Sunday School for children, youth, and adults meets before worship from 9:00–10:00 a.m. Coffee and donuts are available on Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall, and there’s space in between Sunday School and worship to linger, connect, and make your way into the Sanctuary.

Children & Youth
Nursery is available for children birth through age 4, with trained staff and volunteers. Children and youth are invited to remain in the worship service, and we’re always glad to have them with us. We offer activities like coloring pages and word searches, and we understand that an hour-long service can feel long for some kids—please feel free to do what works best for you. A wiggle space across from the sanctuary with a livestream of the service is also available if you need a little more room.
What to Expect During Worship
Our service lasts about an hour and follows a steady rhythm of music, prayer, Scripture, and a message. We sing traditional hymns with choir and organ, and you’re welcome to participate at whatever level feels comfortable. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month, and all are welcome to receive.
What Should I Wear?
You’ll find everything from suits to jeans on a Sunday morning. There’s no dress code—come as you are. Our clergy and choir wear robes during worship, and the congregation reflects a wide range of styles and comfort.

Communion
United Methodists practice an “open table,” which means that “Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another” (from The United Methodist Hymnal).
We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
We do not refuse anyone who desires to receive, nor do you have to be a member to receive communion.
