A Message from Rev. Philip Rhodes, Senior Pastor

We are all living in unprecedented times, but we are learning new ways of living and being.
Our church reopening team has been meeting every couple of weeks and looking at data to determine when we could reopen for in-person worship. The team met last week and set a target date of October 4 for 8:30 a.m. worship. This is a goal, but may change based on new data. Watch for updates after September 15.

In-person worship will look different:

  • Masks will be required.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided.
  • No coffee fellowship or other fellowship time.
  • A video with procedures from parking lot to pew and back to parking lot will be coming soon.
  • Our 11:00 a.m. online worship will still continue.

Please continue to pray for our church. May we all stay well, while remaining in connection.

It is our hope that you will join us at 11 a.m. on Sunday via livestream. Our worship team will continue to lead us in worship and prayer as we navigate this unprecedented season together. Continuing to Give

Although worship and regular programming is operating online only at this point, ministry is still happening. FUMC Hurst is still serving our community and congregation, therefore, we still rely on faithful giving. CLICK HERE to give online or text FUMCHurst to 77977. As always, you are welcome to send your gifts in the mail. We do not have a physical mailbox at the church so if mailing, please remember to send to PO Box 1461, Hurst TX, 76053. If you have a prayer request, our lay prayer team and pastors would love to know. CLICK HERE to submit requests and know that we are praying with you.

If You Need Us

Staff are currently working remotely and only in the office as necessary. The situation will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis and updates will be provided. If you have questions, please email us and someone will respond.

If there is an emergency or you need to speak with a pastor, please call the office at 817.282.7384 and let us know if you or a loved one are hospitalized, or if there has been a birth, death or wedding in your family. If you are in need of pastoral care, please let us know as well and a minister will respond.

Ways to Serve

  • Coronavirus Help is Here HEB Facebook Group. You can get help and offer help there.
  • Mid Cities Care Corps is serving vulnerable, isolated, home-centered folks in our community with yard-care, grocery runs, phone calls, and other means of connecting (without risking their health). If you are interested in serving our neighbors in this way, please reach out to Rev. Matt Ybanez at .
  • Mission Central can use a limited number of volunteers to pack emergency food bags. 

Community Resources

  • Mission Central is currently open for emergency food Tuesday-Friday between 12:30-3:30 p.m. There is no paperwork required and they are practicing social distancing by keeping everyone outside the building and spread out. More information at missioncentraltx.org.
  • If you are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness call 817-996-8800 or click this link to fill out an online helpline form from the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition (TCHC). This form will get the individual that fills out the form connected with the TCHC and their resources. Families/individuals can also call 2-1-1, they have a COVID-19 specific line to assist families and individuals needing assistance during this time.
  • For those dealing with mental health concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic, call the MHMR (My Health My Resources) ICare call center at 817-335-3022 or for the hearing impaired use the TTY_TDD numbers at 817-569-4488.Baylor Scott & White Health has a questionnaire that can be taken online or through a mobile app. To install app on mobile device text BETTER to 88408 to have it sent to phone. You do have to sign up for free Baylor Scott & White Health Account. After the screening is completed, you will be contacted by a Baylor Scott & White provider for next steps.
  • Call the Texas Health Coronavirus Hotline (available 24/7) 682-236-7601 to speak with a nurse to get questions answered.
  • JPS Health Network Coronavirus Helpline (available 24/7) 817-920-7000.
  • Tarrant County Public Health Coronavirus Information Hotline (available 24/7) is 817-248-6299.
