We are called to extend Christ’s radical welcome to each person who comes through the doors of FUMC Hurst. Our goal is to greet everyone warmly and help them to feel recognized. We hope that all who come will find connection with other people and with God.
COVID-19 Protocols
We understand there are many different levels of comfort surrounding COVID-19. We welcome masks and offer a section of our sanctuary for those who continue to practice social distancing.
Welcome Center
Visit the Welcome Center located in the Atrium of the Wesley Building for event information, ministry area brochures and maps/directions. Volunteers staff the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings between 8:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. to answer questions and escort you to areas of interest in our building.
Valet Parking
Our Assisted Parking Service is available at the circular driveway on the west side of the Wesley Building. Beginning at 8 a.m., Assisted Parking Attendants are ready to escort you into the building and park your car for you. This service is intended to help those who have difficulty walking, as well as parents of small children who need an extra hand.
Video Broadcast
Our 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services are broadcast through live video in W120 (Bride's Room) for those who need to soothe young children. An additional video screen is located directly outside the Sanctuary in the Narthex for those who need to step out of the service momentarily. Ushers are ready to escort you to a seat at the appropriate time when you are ready to re-enter the worship service.
Children in Worship
We welcome you and your child in worship. Children learn how to participate in worship by being in worship. However, many parents worry about how their child will behave or how engaged he/she is in worship. Use the link below to view a list of tips to help involve your child in worship.
Children's Worship Kits and Bulletins
Worship kits are available to children during all worship services. These contain worship-related activities for children to do during the service. Kits may be picked up from the baskets at the south end of the hallway outside the Sanctuary. Please return kits to the baskets after the service. Children's worship bulletins are available from the ushers.
Nursery
You and your children are very special at our church.
Our church community recognizes the importance of the caring environment you desire for your child while you worship. It is our goal to provide loving caregivers and a clean and nurturing church setting to set the example of sharing God's love with your child. For questions or concerns, contact Misty Miller, Coordinator of Nursery Ministries, at
Nursery Safety and Security
- Our church provides a two-part sticker security system for safety. Please fill out the two stickers with your child's name: one serves as the child's nametag and the other part of the sticker remains with the parent. A parent or guardian must return and show this label in order to pick up the child.
- For maximum security, please do not send friends or relatives (including older siblings) to pick up your child. Additionally, if your child has any allergies, please be sure to include that information.
- Each family is asked to take a silent pager for children under two years of age, in case they are needed at any time during their church activity.
- Parents, please do not enter the room when dropping off or picking up your child. This will insure safety of all children—those who crawl and those who need special instructions—and also so children do not become anxious to leave when other adults are in the room.
