Welcome To First United Methodist Church of Hurst

First United Methodist Church of Hurst is an open community of Christian disciples seeking to live out the unconditional love of God as revealed in Jesus the Christ.

At FUMC Hurst you will discover a warm group of real people dedicated to growing disciples of Jesus Christ. We "seek to live out" our faith by intentionally deepening our connection with God, people and purpose.

Service Times & Directions

  • Sunday: 8:30, 9:45 a.m. & 11 a.m.
  • Saturday: 6 p.m.

Below you will find information or links to help you get to know a little bit about us. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

Congregation attire varies from casual to business.

If you arrive late, ushers will let you know when you can enter the Sanctuary. If you need to leave early, no one will complain if you slip out.

You may sit in any available seat. The church is accessible to those needing wheelchairs or walkers. Once inside, there are several places for wheelchairs throughout the Sanctuary. You are welcome to check with an usher for locations.

An asterisk in the worship bulletin indicates when you should stand (as you are able).

For those who are hearing impaired, we have special hearing devices that you can wear that will allow you to control the volume. If you think this would be beneficial to you, pick up one from the table outside of the Sanctuary.

For those with sight impairment, large print hymnals are available.

8:30 and 11 a.m. services available in English, French and Spanish. Translation devices are available outside of the sanctuary.

Believing it is important for parents, grandparents and children to worship together, children are always welcome. It is our practice to let parents and children decide the level of participation with which they feel comfortable.

Nursery facilities are available for infants.

For more information, email Jennifer Acker, Director of Discipleship with Children and their Families, .

We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month. We do so to commemorate Christ’s final meal with the disciples, and to celebrate his resurrection. In the United Methodist Church, all are welcome at the Lord’s Table, regardless of denominational affiliation, church membership or belief. All are welcome to experience the gift of grace offered to us through Jesus the Christ.
