- Congregations within the Central Texas Conference which are approved for disaffiliation at the 2023 Annual Conference session, and that subsequently fulfill all exit requirements, will cease to be United Methodist churches effective July 1, 2023. As such, persons who maintain their membership with a disaffiliating church will also cease to be members of The United Methodist Church. For people who wish to remain United Methodist, but whose current membership is with a disaffiliating church, there are two options: Designate a United Methodist Church to place or place membership with the Annual Conference.
