Come join us as we walk the final steps to the cross with Jesus and experience together the miracle and joy of Easter.

Maundy Thursday, April 6

On Maundy Thursday we remember the last meal Jesus shared with his disciples, and as we gather around the table to break bread together, we remember Christ’s presence with us still. Join us in Fellowship Hall, where we will share a simple supper of soup and bread and serve each other communion.

  • Worship Service:  7 p.m., Fellowship Hall

The online Maundy Thursday service will be a time of reflection, prayer and song, as we remember the final meal Jesus had with his disciples. Holy Communion will be celebrated, and so you are invited to have some bread, plus juice, or water, prepared so that you can participate in this sacrament. Worship leaders are Rev. Beth Stuyck, Rev. Robert Nimocks and George Miadis. This service is a joint offering of FUMC Hurst and Project Transformation Central Texas.

Good Friday, April 7

On Good Friday, our Chancel Choir, combined with the choir from FUMC Keller, will present a beautiful work by Joseph Martin. The powerful choral music with orchestral accompaniment will take us through the last week of Jesus' life. Through this musical experience, each of us will be asked to learn from His actions as He journeyed to the cross. (This service will also be presented on Maundy Thursday at FUMC Keller).

Holy Saturday, April 8

Some faith traditions call this day "Silent Saturday" because, as one ancient homily says, "something strange is happening - there is great silence on earth today, a great silence and stillness. The whole earth keeps silence because the King is asleep in the flesh." The earth trembled and is still in this space between death and resurrection. We invite you to join us as we pay attention to silence and await resurrection.  Worship leaders are Rev. Beth Stuyck, George Miadis and Ian Frazier. We're pleased to partner with Project Transformation Central Texas to offer a Holy Saturday worship service.

This service will be held in a private home, not far from the church, so space is limited.  If you plan to attend, please register here, and the location will be emailed to you.

  • Worship Service: 5 p.m.
