We respond to God’s love for us as revealed in the reconciling gift of Jesus the Christ, by loving and serving our neighbors with generous giving. It is through mission outreach that we exemplify the spirit of Christian love to those in our own local community and around the world. Through such giving, God changes not only the lives of others, but our lives as well.
FUMC Hurst has a history of involvement with Mission Central, a community assistance agency, and Global Hands of Healing, a medical/dental mission agency serving in Mexico and Central America.
In 2008, we completed a tenth Habitat for Humanity build, fulfilling a goal of building ten Habitat homes in five years.
FUMC Hurst also supports Christmas Providers, a community Thanksgiving Basket program, an adopt-a-school relationship with Bellaire Elementary, and many other community and global mission efforts.
Each year, our church hosts several large events with the purpose of raising money for missions, including Harvest Festival in the fall, Canafax Golf Scramble in the spring, and Hands of Healing Golf Challenge.
