The FUMC Hurst Blog will give all who read it a glimpse into the ways our ministries are impacting the lives of individuals in our congregation, our community, and our world. At the same time, this will be a place where our contributors will share their thoughts and feelings on current events around the world and in our own backyard.   

The First United Methodist of Hurst Connect News is published monthly and is available for download. Submissions for the Connect are welcome. Include contact name and daytime phone number with submissions. Mission Central supplies food to about 400 local families in need each month. We collect items for the pantry the first weekend of each month. October’s food item is canned chili. You can help by bringing a donation when you come to worship. 

Mobile Food Pantry

Friday, October 13, 8 a.m. - noon (distribution 9 - 11 a.m.)

Mission Central and FUMC Hurst, in partnership with Tarrant Area Food Bank, host a mobile food pantry the second Friday of each month. To volunteer contact Catherine Hollis at catherine.hollis@missioncentraltx.org.

PECANS: Pre-orders will be taken beginning Sunday, September 24 in the Fellowship Hall. Mammoth Pecan Halves and Pecan Caramel Clusters (individually wrapped)

HARVEST FESTIVAL LUNCH TICKETS: Tickets go on sale beginning Sunday, October 8 in the Fellowship Hall. $10 adult ticket and $5 children’s ticket (12 & under).

BRISKET: Orders will be taken beginning Sunday, October 8 in the Fellowship Hall. $50 per brisket. 

CREATIVE CHRISTIAN STORE: Start your Christmas shopping at Harvest Festival! This is a great place to find gifts for teachers or neighbors, stocking stuffers, hostess gifts and more. Donations are needed to make the Country Store a success. Details will be available on the website.
