Singles
in the Life of Our Church
First
United Methodist Church of Hurst values our single adults and the
contributions they make to ministry at our church.
Singles currently serve on church committees, sing in the
choirs, participate in youth and adult local mission activities,
participate in medical/dental mission trips, teach Sunday school,
serve as ushers, lead Disciple Bible Study groups, serve in the
Altar Guild, serve as greeters, serve in the Stephen Ministries, and
participate in many other areas of church life.
Single
Adult Ministry (SAM) Council
The goal of the Single Adult Ministries Council of FUMC Hurst is to Support, Build, and Inspire Wholeness. The Council was created to

promote
activities to draw singles together from our church
·
assist
in the development of Singles Sunday School classes
·
offer
an annual event for UMC Singles in our geographic area
· sponsor
two “Meet and Greet” events per year
· support
Second Tuesday Singles dinner and program
· offer
workshops to and Bible studies for Singles
· help
the church-at-large
Fellowship
Among Christian Singles (FACS)
Fellowship
Among Christian Singles is a group for men and
women in their 30s and 40s who celebrate fellowship, fun, and
ministry together. The
FACS calendar includes a wide variety of social and fellowship
events, including kid-friendly and adult-only events. Mission
opportunities are a priority as well.
FACS members are in a variety of Sunday School classes and
are active in several ministry aspects of the church. Singles in
their 30s and 40s are invited to join us for fun, fellowship, and
mission.
