First United Methodist Church of Hurst is an open community of Christians seeking to live out the unconditional love of God as revealed in Jesus the Christ.
In a large congregation, smaller groups provide a place to build relationships. FUMC Hurst offers numerous small group opportunities that provide places for people to connect with others through study, spiritual growth, caring and support, health and fitness, and fellowship.
Small Groups and Studies
In addition to Adult Sunday school classes and Disciple Bible Studies, a variety of short-term studies are offered throughout the year. Information on our current offerings can always be found in the bulletin, newspaper, weekly email newsletter, and online calendar.
Adult Sunday School
All our Adult Sunday School classes meet Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. and include classes for women, singles, couples, and adults with special needs. The list of classes includes the age range of the majority of class members. Click on the class name for a complete description of the class.
Disciple Bible Studies
Disciple is a 32–34 week small group Bible study. Through the Disciple experience, participants are led to explore the relationship of God and humans in light of the biblical text and are challenged to determine our appropriate human response to the biblical message. Each year we offer Disciples courses which begin in August.
