Sherry joined the church staff in December 1996. Prior to that, she worked part time at her husband's architectural firm and raised two daughters.

Sherry was born in Beaumont, and spent most of her younger years in Waco. She graduated from Baylor University with B.A. degree, majoring in Business Education and English. She has a State of Texas Teachers Certificate.

She is a member of Cowtown Model T Club and the Horseless Carriage Club. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren. She and her husband, Bill, have been married since 1972. They have two adult daughters, Kristi and Kerri, as well as a dog, Buddy (a Bichon), who actually runs the household.
