Deena has been teaching, leading, and volunteering in numerous ways in our Children's Ministries since she joined FUMC Hurst in January 2007. Deena joined the staff as Assistant Director of Children's Ministries in November 2009.

 When Deena was a child, her favorite book was The Monster at the End of the Book, and her favorite television program was Perry Mason. In high school, her favorite subject was pep rally! She and her husband, Scott, and their elementary–age daughter, Ella, share their home with BunnyLou the rabbit, Judy the dog, Mack the cat and George the fish. She recommends Ray Buckley’s Christmas Mocassins and Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree for all children to read.

 Deena was raised in Everman and Crowley. When she was 12 years old, she won the Grand Prize at the American Paint Horse Nationals. She was baptized at Everman UMC and later served as their Youth Director. Deena studied Criminal Justice in college with an interest in Constitutional Law, and brings her experience in human resources and real estate.
