Steven joined the staff of FUMC Hurst in September 2002 and works primarily with visitors and new members. Before coming to Hurst, Steven worked at Pecan Gap UMC and Ladonia UMC in the North Texas Conference, and Salem Crestview UMC, Tonk Valley Community Church, and Murray UMC in the Central Texas Conference.

Steven was born in Shreveport and raised in Coushatta, Louisiana. He graduated from Riverdale Academy in Eastpoint, Louisiana in 1994 and then went on to Centenary College of Louisiana where he graduated in 1998 with a BS in Biology and received an endorsement from the Centenary School of Church Careers. He graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology/Southern Methodist University in 2001.

Steven is an Associate Chaplain for the Hurst Police Department, and a member of the Neighborhood and Community Advisory Board for Hurst City Council and Christmas Providers. He enjoys working in the yard, cycling, running, going to the gym, camping, and hiking. He and his wife, Meredith, have a daughter, Ann, and a black Labrador Retriever named Sarah.
